Abstract
A magazine about female education and gender stereotypes
Today, women make up about one-third of the employees in the STEM field. They also only make up about 8% of CEOs in S&P 500 companies. However, education and opportunities are seemingly equal among men and women. Society and gender norms have affected female education and employment and continually dissuade women from reaching their full potential. To break the stereotypes and stop negative societal effects on women, it must start with early education and family values. By proving negative stereotypes about women wrong and providing examples and role models for young girls to follow, girls will be more inclined to shuck traditional gender roles and expectations and cut their own paths in life.
