My name is Julia Austin, and I am a senior at Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia. I will be attending the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, studying Political Philosophy, Politics, and Law. I have always loved to read books from a young age, and I love to play any kind of sports or games in my free time. My family’s deep roots in education led me to want to research education and more specifically, how history and society have affected education. I enjoyed learning about the history of gender roles and also the structural differences in men's and women’s brains.
